This policy describes HabitVale from Void Lantern Studios and its current development version. Questions can be sent to support@voidlanternstudios.com.

Information on your device

The app stores your chosen profile name and avatar, habits, goals, reasons, schedules, routines, completion history, notes, recovery reflections, reviews, progress, rewards, and preferences. These records support the app’s features and are kept locally rather than automatically uploaded to a studio server. Your operating system or device-backup provider may separately back up app data according to your settings.

Local tracking and exports

Habit and routine information is stored locally using device storage, or browser storage in the web preview. The current app has no studio account, cloud habit backup, remote analytics, or production notification scheduling. Reminder settings do not mean a system reminder is delivered. Available JSON export uses a device share sheet or browser download. It includes your selected app data and excludes billing state; the receiving app or person gets the file only when you choose to save or share it. Protect exports because habit names and reflections may reveal personal or sensitive information.

Purchases

Purchase-enabled native builds use RevenueCat with Apple App Store or Google Play to verify purchases, restore access, and maintain entitlement status. This involves an app-user identifier, transaction or receipt information, and technical device information. The store handles payment details; we do not receive your full payment-card number. Your local content described above is not sent as part of purchase verification.

See RevenueCat’s privacy policy, Apple’s privacy policy, and Google’s privacy policy. Their records can remain after an app reset. Builds without configured billing cannot complete a purchase.

HabitVale currently uses a RevenueCat-generated anonymous identifier without a studio login. This still enables purchase records to be associated with that installation or store relationship. Web and Expo Go previews do not accept payments.

Advertising and information you send us

The current app has no in-app advertising and does not use your local records for targeted advertising. If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments. We use them to answer you and investigate the issue. Send only what is necessary, and obtain permission before sharing information about someone else. We do not sell the personal information you send to support or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and deletion

Use the app’s editing, deletion, and reset controls to manage local records. Clearing browser site data removes the web preview’s local storage. Exported files, device backups, and store or RevenueCat purchase records are separate. A local reset does not cancel a paid subscription.

We retain support correspondence only as reasonably necessary to address requests, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations. Providers retain their records according to their own policies. Removing the app does not erase copies already held by other people or services.

Security and your choices

Local storage is not a promise of encryption or complete confidentiality. Protect your device and backups. Anyone with access to an exported file can read its contents. No system is completely secure. We cannot directly access, export, or delete information that exists only on your device.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, restrict, or object to processing of information we hold, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact support@voidlanternstudios.com to request help; we may need to verify the request. Where applicable, we process support information to respond to your request, maintain the service and its security, or comply with law. We may disclose information we hold when legally required or necessary to protect users and legal rights.

Younger users

We do not ask children to send personal information to the studio to use local features. A parent or guardian should help younger users with support requests, purchases, and sharing. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us without appropriate permission so we can review and address it.

Website and third parties

The studio website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes network and security information to deliver it. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This website does not currently include studio marketing analytics or advertising. External websites and services you choose operate under their own policies and may process information outside your country.

Policy updates

We will revise this policy and its date when data handling changes and give additional notice or seek consent where required. Introducing cloud sync, AI processing, advertising, or other services would require corresponding disclosures.
