This policy describes HomeKeep from Void Lantern Studios and its current development version. Questions can be sent to support@voidlanternstudios.com.
Information on your device
The app stores properties, home inventory, maintenance schedules and history, repairs, service visits, warranties, contractor details, parts, costs, document descriptions and file paths, and preferences. These records support the app’s features and are kept locally rather than automatically uploaded to a studio server. Your operating system or device-backup provider may separately back up app data according to your settings.
Documents, exports, and reminders
On supported mobile devices, you can select PDF, JPG and PNG documents or photos through native pickers. HomeKeep copies selected files into app-managed storage and records their names, types, sizes and linked records. Original source files remain separate. JSON exports, ZIP backups including managed attachments, and available text or CSV reports may contain home addresses, contractor details, costs and documents. Review files before sharing through your device’s share sheet. Recipients and chosen storage providers handle those copies under their own policies.
HomeKeep schedules local maintenance, warranty and replacement reminders after notification permission is granted. Titles may be visible on the lock screen. You can change permission in system settings. Cloud household sharing and OCR are not implemented; entering an address does not enable GPS tracking.
Purchases and store connections
Mobile builds use Unity In-App Purchasing to connect to Apple App Store or Google Play for product information, restoration and subscription checks. Connections can occur even when new purchases are disabled pending store setup. Available paid plans are monthly and annual subscriptions. The store processes payment details; HomeKeep processes purchase results and entitlement information and stores a local product identifier, transaction identifier, verification time and access-expiry time. Your home records and attachments are not sent as part of purchase verification. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
See Unity’s app-user privacy policy, Apple’s privacy policy, and Google’s privacy policy for provider processing.
Advertising and information you send us
The current app has no in-app advertising and does not use your local records for targeted advertising. If you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments. We use them to answer you and investigate the issue. Send only what is necessary, and obtain permission before sharing information about someone else. We do not sell the personal information you send to support or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention and deletion
You can remove records and reset the app’s active data. The current reset preserves a previous-save recovery backup; it is not a secure erase of every copy. Removing a document reference does not delete the external file it points to. Resetting active records does not guarantee removal of managed attachment files, temporary sharing copies, recovery backups or store entitlement records. Manage app storage, recovery files, exports, and device backups separately when you need to remove all copies. Deleting local data does not cancel a subscription.
We retain support correspondence only as reasonably necessary to address requests, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations. Providers retain their records according to their own policies. Removing the app does not erase copies already held by other people or services.
Security and your choices
Local storage is not a promise of encryption or complete confidentiality. Protect your device and backups. Anyone with access to an exported file can read its contents. No system is completely secure. We cannot directly access, export, or delete information that exists only on your device.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy of, restrict, or object to processing of information we hold, withdraw consent where processing depends on consent, or complain to a privacy regulator. Contact support@voidlanternstudios.com to request help; we may need to verify the request. Where applicable, we process support information to respond to your request, maintain the service and its security, or comply with law. We may disclose information we hold when legally required or necessary to protect users and legal rights.
Younger users
We do not ask children to send personal information to the studio to use local features. A parent or guardian should help younger users with support requests, purchases, and sharing. Contact us if you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us without appropriate permission so we can review and address it.
Website and third parties
The studio website is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes network and security information to deliver it. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. This website does not currently include studio marketing analytics or advertising. External websites and services you choose operate under their own policies and may process information outside your country.
Policy updates
We will revise this policy and its date when data handling changes and give additional notice or seek consent where required. Introducing cloud sync, AI processing, advertising, or other services would require corresponding disclosures.
